Tuesday 27th February and the Town of Dundee held its bi-weekly Town Hall Commission Meet at the town’s municipal complex.

As an open forum for Dundee’s residents , the Commission Meeting was presided over by Mayor Sam Pennant with the Town’s Commissioners being on hand for this gathering. Also present were Town Manager , Deena Ware , Seth Claytor , representing Boswell & Dunlap as the town’s legal counsel and Melissa Glogowski recording the minutes of the meeting.

A number of civic awards were handed out to recipients, recognizing their contributions over this past year. Among those receiving awards were Don Woods Opportunity Center, Fiat Alfa Romeo of Winter Haven (FL), Bok Academy, Dundee Elementary Academy and Dundee Middle School among others awarded. The Third Annual Taste of Dundee Event took place on Thursday, 22nd February at the Dundee Community Center in Dundee, Florida. Hosted by the Dundee Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by several local businesses within the community. This event has proven to be a resounding success each year, growing in stature each time it has taken place. Emceed by Area Chamber of Commerce President Jill Kitto , Thursday night’s event offered an array of local business many of them within the food and beverage industry. Local restaurants from within the area were on hand to offer their delightful delicacies , sumptuously prepared food and drinks.

Among the restaurants represented were , Mirtha’s Café , Floridino’s(Lake Hamilton) , Tanners (Winter Haven), Dundee BBQ, Nooch’s Deli and a number of other well established businesses within our locale.

With the entertainment provided by a live band, members of the public as well as many of the Town of Dundee’s Commissioners on hand to welcome the guests as well as those dignitaries from the surrounding area and the Taste of Dundee being also opened to the public. This event provided the residents within the Town of Dundee with the chance to see what has been always on offer within the town which they might have been completely unaware of.
