Town of Dundee (Fl) Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony ….

The Town of Dundee officially kicked-off their Christmas Celebrations with the official Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday 2nd December with the scene of the event being the Dundee Community Center. On hand to emcee the proceedings , Assistant Town Manager Deena Ware. Also present were the town commissioners and some local dignitaries. The theme of the event was Christmas and its special meaning to all at this time of the year. An invocation was provided by Reverend Jose Calderon and the national anthem was sung by Venessa Goddard .

Musical presentations for this event were provided by members of the Bok Academy Chorus , directed by Timothy Cain. Also there, providing some additional entertainment , were Kimberley Rodriguez from the Don Woods Opportunity Center, as were members of the Dundee Elementary School , who gave the audience several wonderful Christmas Carol renditions, while being directed by Tamela Gonzalez. The Dundee Ridge Middle Academy Choir were also present with their performance while being conducted by Cathy Montero. Cookies and hot chocolate were also served at Santa’s Grotto to keep the guests happy as the event was being staged.

To make the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony even more special, there was an appearance by Santa and Mrs Claus, which provided a photo opportunity for many of the children in appearance , while their parents or guardians looked on.

Next Saturday, 10th December , the Town of Dundee will stage their Annual Christmas Parade from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm .
