On Saturday, 12th December,2015, the Town of Dundee held its Annual Christmas Day Parade. The town’s civic dignitaries and a number of staff members were part of the participants in the parade alongside local businesses , residents and a number of schools from within the surrounding area. The event was staged in coordination with the efforts of the Dundee Chamber of Commerce . Turnout for Saturday’s event was a tremendous success, with local residents, their families , friends and guests in attendance for the parade, which wound its way from the Winn Dixie Plaza along US Highway 27 and Dundee Road/ Mains Street , through the downtown area of Dundee for its final destination at the Dundee Community Center , Lake Marie Drive, Dundee.
Grand Marshal for Saturday’s event event, was none other than Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy, Grady Judd , who was warmly welcomed by the town’s residents in their show of appreciation. At the community center , vendors , kids’ activities were all on-hand as the sense of community spirit was in full show. Mayor Sam Pennant and many of the town’s commissioners were seen having a great time , with Town Manager Ryan Taylor also playing a significant role in the day’s festivities.
As usual , the children were enthralled to see Santa and Mrs Claus in their sleigh as part of the event, while the reindeers were given the day off, as Santa’s sleigh was part of the motorcade which made up the Christmas Day Parade.
